Ehsan is a senior advisor for government and NGOs at The London Institute of Banking and Finance. Prior to this, he was the founding director for the MENA region and head of Dubai Centre at City, University of London and its Cass Business School for nearly 10 years.
Ehsan is a leader with strong entrepreneurial skills and talent for start-ups and new business development. His management work experience has been in higher education, family business, charity, non-profits, consulting, auditing and project management in a number of countries including the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and Germany.
Some of the companies that Ehsan has worked with include London Business School, Dubai International Financial Centre Authority, KFC, Advanced Institute of Management Research, Cancer Research UK.
In May 2011, Ehsan received an award for his outstanding contribution to establish and the significant growth of Sir John Cass Business School and City, University of London in the MENA region. The award was presented by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Dubai Airport, president of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, Professor Sir Paul Curran, President of City, University of London and Mr Richard Gillingwater CBE, then the dean of Sir John Cass Business School.
Ehsan is an alumnus of Sir John Cass Business School, having completed a master’s degree in auditing and management. His dissertation was about the expansion of Cass to the MENA region and Dubai in particular.
In 2012, Ehsan completed the Entrepreneurial University Leadership course, which is a pioneering executive development programme for senior university leaders offered by University of Oxford, National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education (NCEE) and Universities UK (UUK). He is currently serving on the Education and Charity committee in the Worshipful Company of World Traders. Prior to this, he served on the MENA board of Cass Business School and City, University of London for six years. He was also the committee member of the UKTI Higher Education in the UAE, Capital Club Dubai and UK-UAE Financial and Professional Services.
In February 2016, Ehsan was granted the Freedom of the City of London in one of the oldest surviving traditional ceremonies since 1237. He was admitted as a liveryman in October 2017. He is currently fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (The RSA). He is also member of Chatham House, Guildhall Art Gallery and Oxford Entrepreneurs Network.
Ehsan’s analysis and articles for business and management education have been quoted in major publications including The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Independent, Gulf News, Arabian Business, The National, Bloomberg, Al Bayan, Khaleej Times, Thomson Reuters, Intelligent SME, Business Year Book, Gulf Business, MEED, CEO Middle East, Industry Middle East, Pipeline and Shanghai Business Review. He has also appeared in a range of local and international media channels including the BBC.
