Nafisa is the face and voice of BBC Media Action in Bangladesh, and is excited about making a difference in the global education realm. She holds a bachelor’s degree in health economics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has close to five years’ of dynamic work experience in both the private and the nonprofit sectors.
She is currently working as a radio host and content contributor for BBC Media Action; her current project is a show which aims to create sustainable development by enabling the communication between young people and decision makers. Previously, she has been the television presenter for a BBC show that promoted awareness through different episodes focusing on education and health for young girls, women empowerment, early marriage, midwife crisis, and gender equality.
Her aspiration to be a positive agent led her to participate in many national and international programs, debate competitions, and projects with UNICEF, British Council, Commonwealth, BYLC, The Tech Academy, Youth Club of Bangladesh, Jaago Foundation, JCI Dhaka, and many more. She has been a core communications team member that arranged TEDxDhaka 2017, which included speakers from around the world.
Nafisa has co-founded a social enterprise called “Monon Foundation”, that donates free books to underprivileged children to spread the light of knowledge. This project has been showcased in the United Kingdom for its excellence. Through this, she is passionate about the possibility of providing access to quality education, especially to the youth. She is a storyteller by heart and passionate about virtual content creation. She is trying to make a difference with her excellent ability to lead groups with a diverse mix of people, investing in their happiness, her passion for questioning authority, her pursuit of change and her dream for a better world.
